*What is a sounding mask?
The simple concept would be that it is a mask + a sound system. In this case, the sound system that we will add to our mask will be a globular flute or “ocarina”.
This series of workshops dictated by "Ceremonial Pacha" has as its main intention the introduction to pre-Colombian sound ceramics.
In this class on "sounding masks" we will learn basic knowledge about the handling of clay, as well as some clay sculpture techniques and of course, we will learn about the construction of a globular flute or "ocarina".
No prior knowledge or experience in the use and handling of clay is required for this class, so all who are curious and want to explore new creative avenues are welcome.
The workshop will be held in the @tem.ple.tree -art space (location at the end of this description), the class starts at 11 in the morning and ends at 5 in the afternoon, the class has a cost of 1,200thb and includes all the materials to be used and firing of the finished piece.
The workshop does not include lunch but you have the option of bringing your lunch or having lunch prepared by our good friend “Jodi” from “Suan Silapa” which costs 200thb.
